‘The Summer I turned Pretty’ creator teases fans with exciting update
The Summer I Turned Pretty creator and writer Jenny Han hyped fans with a big announcement about show’s upcoming third season.
After filming wrapped for the new season, Han took to her Instagram Stories to share what fans can expect.
“One thing I’ll say about season 3 of tsitp,” she wrote in a now-deleted Story, revealing that “there are no filler episodes.”
The Prime Video series, which first premiered in 2022, follows the story of a young girl Belly (Lola Tung), who is in a complicated relationship with two boys, Conrad (Christopher Briney) and Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno).
The storyline revolves around Belly’s struggles to deal with the complicated relationship she shares with the two Fisher brothers.
It is unclear if the upcoming season will be the last in the series adapted from Han’s novel of the same name. However, Han maintained that she will focus on story-telling.
“My priority has always been that I want fans of the book to feel really satisfied by the story we’re telling,” she told Variety in an interview. “But also, for them to know that this is an adaptation in a new medium, so it’s not going to be exactly the same.”
The plot for the new season is likely to set two years after the events of Season two. The focus will be on Belly and Jeremiah’s relationship but will also look into Belly’s lingering feelings for Conrad.
The third season is slated to release in summer of 2025 with 11 new episodes.
