Justin Baldoni opens up about emotional depth of ‘It Ends with Us’
Justin Baldoni is reflecting on domestic violence as he gets candid about his groundbreaking role in his film It Ends With Us.
The 40-year-old, who starred as Ryle alongside Blake Lively’s Lily Bloom in an adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s novel of the same name, opened up about portraying a toxic character in the film.
The actor emphasized the importance of exiting toxic relationships and stressed that nothing justifies physical violence against women.
He quipped, “There’s never an excuse to lay hands and hurt a woman.”
Citing his groundbreaking role in the series, the Jane the Virgin actor discussed how his portrayal of Ryle shed light on domestic violence, highlighting one of the primary reasons relationships fall apart.
Fans couldn’t stop swooning over Baldoni’s point of view as they went on to address the controversy surrounding the entire Blake Lively drama.
One fan commented, “Whatever the PR, the director, the cast’s intentions where for the marketing campaign of this movie, I appreciate it’s one of the leading male leading cast that is explaining, talking about and getting deep into this subject while the female lead enjoys her floral dresses and happy songs. Put the weight and responsibility on one side for one time, almost solely where it might belong.”
Another chimed in, “This man is a treasure. Read his book. So in touch and in tune.”
This development follows the recent drama surrounding the Gossip Girl alum, who faced backlash for mishandling a sensitive issue during promotions.
